• Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvaad 2026 – Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya urged young people to take an active role in nation-building and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He emphasised youth leadership, civic responsibilities, self-reliance and a drug-free India. • Climate Science into Services for India Forum (CSSIF) – The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, held its first stakeholder consultation meeting, bringing together over 150 participants from more than 80 institutions. Discussions focused on translating climate science into practical services for health, energy, finance and climate-risk planning. • Exercise KONKAN-26 Concludes – The Indian Navy and the Royal Navy concluded their bilateral maritime exercise off Plymouth, United Kingdom, strengthening interoperability and maritime cooperation between the two countries.

High consumption of ultra-processed foods and sugary beverages, skipping breakfast, inadequate physical activity, and insufficient sleep are contributing to obesity and insulin resistance. Studies highlight that habits formed during childhood can significantly influence health in adulthood. While the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 focuses on foundational learning, greater emphasis is needed on health and wellbeing education in schools. Strengthening school nutrition programmes, promoting sports, ensuring adequate sleep, and spreading awareness about healthy eating can help prevent lifestyle diseases.
