Hi, a tribal from Nagaland here. The issues that we faced or is facing is the loss of our tribal identity. Education has played a major role in introducing us to other cultures & civilising us but at the same time has negatively impacted the tradition and customs. A literate person will not be able to connect to many rigid practices of their tribes & hence give up while embracing other cultures or practices. Technology has also played a major role in assimilating us to modern facilities & different cultures which has replaced a lot of traditional practices. For example, our village used to get together build houses whenever somebody is building their house irrespective of their status. People will donate wood, food, & even materials. With modern tools & availability of cheap labours, such community participations have totally disappeared.

Tribal communities across the globe face land alienation, cultural erosion, forced displacement, exploitation, poverty, inadequate healthcare and education, political marginalisation, and environmental destruction.
In India, these challenges are compounded by conflicts over forest rights, mining projects, and development-induced displacement.
President Droupadi Murmu’s journey highlights the importance of tribal representation, but systemic inequalities continue to hinder genuine empowerment.

Education needs to be fixed first, then all the systems need to be fixed. There are many other things that need to be fixed.
