UPSC prep: consistency beats giving 100% every single day
A message for everyone preparing for UPSC. I’ve received 10–15 messages from aspirants who feel guilty because they’re unable to give 100% every single day. Listen, everyone. If you can give your 100% on 24-25 days out of a month, you’re already doing better than 99% aspirants. Consistency matters far more than perfection. You’re human, not a machine. Some days, you’ll feel motivated and productive; on others, you might struggle to study even for a few hours. That’s okay. Don’t panic over 1, 2, or even 3 bad days. One unproductive day won’t ruin your preparation, just as one productive day won’t guarantee success. What matters is how quickly you get back on track. UPSC is not a test of how perfectly you perform every day. It’s a test of how consistently you show up despite uncertainty, exhaustion, and setbacks. A bad day is not a failed preparation. Giving up because of a bad day is what you need to guard against. All the best guys.
