UPSC aspirants: legal awareness, FIR risk and protest support on the ground
A message to everyone protesting on the ground. ✊🇮🇳 If you're a student or government-job aspirant, stay legally aware and ensure you have access to reliable legal support. An FIR can complicate your career. CJP DIDN’T PROVIDE LEGAL BACKUP DURING THE JULY PROTEST. Being under a political party’s umbrella gives you access to its legal team and less chances of getting FIR on individual. I was told not to come on the 10th because INC did not want its name associated with any untoward incident that might occur during CJP’s protest. The fight is for reforming the 2023 Amendment, not creating chaos. The events of 20 July and CJP’s leadership today have raised serious concerns: leaders may get detained, while ordinary supporters could be left to face the consequences. Why can’t CJP coordinate with opposition under the leadership of the LoP instead of pursuing a separate third-front agenda? Leadership must take responsibility for those who stand with them. STAY LEGALLY AWARE.
