Copy evaluation is not a one-size-fits-all process. It should be conducted in four distinct stages: 1. Answer-Writing Hygiene – Checking basic discipline, legibility, language, spacing, margins, and overall readability. 2. Presentation & Structure – Evaluating the introduction, body, conclusion, headings, subheadings, flow, diagrams, and overall organization. 3. Understanding of the Question’s Demand – Assessing whether the candidate has correctly understood the directive, core theme, and specific demands of the question. 4. Value Addition – Examining the use of relevant examples, data, case studies, constitutional provisions, committee recommendations, scholars, thinkers, diagrams, and other content that enhances the answer. Therefore, evaluation should be category-wise rather than based on a uniform checklist. The feedback should identify the specific stage where the candidate is facing a problem and provide practical, easy-to-implement suggestions with a high input–output ratio.
